Studio Policy

Welcome to my private studio!

I am so excited to embark on a musical journey with you! My goal is to provide a supportive and open learning environment where you can discover the joy of music, develop your skills, and nurture your passion. This policy outlines how we can best work together to ensure a successful and fulfilling learning experience.

My Commitment

As your instructor, I promise and am dedicated to:

  • Creating a safe and encouraging space where you feel comfortable exploring your musical potential without judgment.

  • Equipping you with the technical knowledge and proficiency you need to excel, driven by a genuine love for music.

  • Providing clear and organized instruction that is tailored to your unique needs, interests, and learning style.

  • In the event of an unexpected lesson cancellation on my part, you will receive a refund for the cost of that missed lesson.

Your Commitment

To make the most of your lessons, I ask that you:

  • Arrive on time for your scheduled lesson, ready to learn.

  • Develop and follow a consistent practice plan to reinforce what you learn and make steady progress.

  • Bring all necessary materials and music to each lesson.

  • Communicate openly with me about anything that might be affecting your ability to focus or prepare for lessons, whether it's related to home, school, or life in general. This helps me better understand your needs and support your musical growth.

Tuition

Tuition rates are based on the length of weekly lessons and the number of guaranteed lessons in the calendar year. There will be a minimum of 46 lessons offered throughout the year, and the weeks where lessons are not held (due to holidays, personal performance opportunities, or illness) will be communicated in advance. Tuition is a flat, monthly rate, charged on the first of each month.

All payments are non-refundable, and a $15 late fee will be applied to any payments not received within 3 days of the posted charge.

**Note: Tuition reserves the weekly time slot, but may not directly correlate with the number of lessons received if a student does not attend or cancels their scheduled lesson without 24 hour notice.

Ending Lessons

If you decide to discontinue lessons, a written notice must be provided via email two weeks before the start of the next month. This allows me to adjust my schedule and modify my lesson plans accordingly.

Lesson Scheduling & Cancellation Policy

My teaching year is divided into three semesters:

Fall Semester: September - December

Spring Semester: January - May

Summer Semester: June - August

If you need to request a change to your regular lesson time, please communicate this at least two weeks before the desired change needs to go into effect.

Students are eligible for two makeup lessons per semester. I will work with you to find a mutually convenient time for these makeups when they're available.

If you need to cancel a lesson, 24 hours' notice is required to guarantee a makeup lesson.

By enrolling and paying tuition in my private studio, you certify that you understand and agree to the studio policies for the 2025 calendar year.

I am thrilled to be a part of your musical journey! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
